Founder's Story
After nearly five decades in sales, technology, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and business development, Tuck Corvinus believed he was ready to retire.
For more than 25 years, he and his wife, Beth, had vacationed along North Carolina’s Crystal Coast. Beaufort became their special place—a community they loved for its maritime history, welcoming people, beautiful waterfront, and slower pace of life.
When the opportunity came to make Beaufort their home, they did not hesitate. It became one of the best decisions they ever made.
The community welcomed them with open arms, and they developed an even deeper appreciation for everything that makes the Crystal Coast special: the beaches, boating, fishing, history, local businesses, and, most importantly, the people.
A Simple Idea That Grew
Fishing has always been one of Tuck’s greatest passions.
As a U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captain, he developed tremendous respect for the captains, mates, marina owners, and hardworking people who make their living on the water.
One day, Tuck had a simple idea: interview local captains and share their stories.
There was no grand business plan. He simply wanted to meet interesting people, learn from their experiences, and celebrate the community he and Beth had come to love.
He bought a camera, created a simple website, and began filming.
People watched. They shared the stories. Then they asked for more.
What began as conversations on the docks soon became Crystal Coast Compass.
More Than Fishing Stories
As the platform grew, Tuck realized the stories were about much more than fishing.
They were about people building businesses, supporting families, serving their neighbors, and creating opportunities throughout the Crystal Coast.
From charter captains and marinas to restaurants, hotels, retailers, service companies, and local entrepreneurs, every business has a story worth telling.
Throughout his career, Tuck never considered himself simply a salesperson. He saw himself as a problem solver—someone who listened first, understood a business owner’s challenges, and then helped create practical solutions.
That same philosophy guides Crystal Coast Compass today.
The company is not simply producing marketing content. It is building relationships, telling authentic stories, and helping local businesses earn trust within the communities they serve.
Experience, Creativity, and Innovation
Today, Crystal Coast Compass combines decades of business experience with the possibilities of artificial intelligence through its proprietary Lighthouse System™.
The purpose of the Lighthouse System is not to replace creativity or personal connection. It is to use technology thoughtfully, helping businesses share their stories more efficiently while preserving the authenticity that makes those stories meaningful.
The goal has never been to become the largest media company on the Crystal Coast.
The goal is to become one of the most trusted.
When a business partners with Crystal Coast Compass, it is not simply purchasing marketing services. It is joining a team that genuinely cares about its success.
That belief is captured in one simple promise:

If you win, we win.
For Tuck and Beth, the future of Crystal Coast Compass is deeply personal.
They hope to be remembered as honest, hardworking neighbors who cared about their community, helped local businesses succeed, and used their experience to make a positive difference.

If their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren can one day look back with pride at what they built together on the Crystal Coast, they will consider the journey a success.
